Saltwater Fly Fishers Picnic proposed - Now cancelled
« on: February 02, 2012, 02:56:41 PM »
FYI... The Red stick club had proposed the return of the "Saltwater Fly Fishers Picnic" for October 19-20, 2012 at the Grand Isle Community Center in Grand Isle.

That was before Bayou Coast club had to change their date to Fall n Tide to that same weekend. I then looked at the 2nd weekend as it was only avaable weekend before Christmas. Now Isaac has cancelled that. I'm still thinking we might do a group thing out of Blue Dolphin this fall to help support businesses on the island and their recovery.

October right after Southern Conclave?  Too far too soon.  But it's something.

Well, that leaves me out.  That is LSU's first game in College Station since the series ended back in the early 90's.  My son has a masters from aTm, and my daughter a bachelors from there, so we will be representing the P&G with a bunch of Ags.

Frank, you will be missed my friend!  But duty comes before fishing. You have the difficult assignment of cheering on our boys on in a tough environment... you must be our 12th man!  Hopefully we will be watching.

Catch, you are right.  It is one of the tougher assignments that I must endure, but I will persevere.  Geaux Tigers.

I'll get the word out to the Magnolia FF club in Jackson, MS if you haven't already.  Our club meets next Tuesday.  Thanks for putting this together Catch.  Texas has been a bit far for many of us in this economy.

Any more info on the Grand Isle event in October?  A buddy from NO and I just found out about this site and will probably run down for some fly fishing from kayak and meet others who fly fish.
