Chili and Flies
qualey99:
Just a reminder that the "Chili and Flies" meeting, our annual chili cook off and fun fly tying contest, will be tomorrow night, Feb 17th, at the Shady Grove Community Center at 3949 Wayne Avenue in Bossier City. If you have never attended one of these, you need to. The chili is always good, and the fly tying contest is a lot of fun. See you at 7:00 PM.
Rex White:
What a grand time at Chili and Flies. Man oh man, there wasn't a bad batch of chili in the house! Congrats to Scott for being the 2012 Grand Champion.
Every year, it's amazing the creativity of our NLFF fly tyers. This year's 'junk fly' proved that. Just think, if you had to tie a fly using parts of someone else's junk, i.e., old leather glove, ribbon, paint brush (as in house painting), old fly line, old mono line, wrapping foil, bandages and old rope. Every fly was excellent.
Thanks tiers and Congrats to Jeff as the 2012 Grand Champion Fly tyer at Chili and Flies.

It's been awhile since NLFF has asked Uncle Larry to be a guest speaker... :-\

Larry, Scott will be informed today of this post. Hope you had a great holiday season and new year. Our Tigers kind of blew it on the 9th, but I still had a great time in New Orleans for that weekend. Hope to see you soon.
Rex, Last night was a great time. I love it that Jeff kicked his ol man's tail in the fly tying contest. Our young folks are coming on strong in the club. The chili was great. Thanks to everyone who participated.
Larry Offner:
Are any of you NLFF guys going to the Red River Rendezvous?
